Deerfield Media (Vail), Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to buy the assets and operations of TV8 from The Vail Corporation. The acquisition is contingent upon, among other things, receipt of applicable regulatory approvals and other required consents. The transaction is currently expected to close in May 2021, with TV8 resuming full operations shortly thereafter.
TV8 has served the Vail Valley for nearly 30 years with distinct local programming and “Good Morning Vail” as the centerpiece of the programming schedule. “Good Morning Vail” first aired on TV8 in 1990 and had become a staple for locals and visitors alike. Vail Resorts elected to sell the TV8 operations to the resort television operator following the partial suspension of operations in July 2020.
“Vail Resorts is pleased to see the continuation of quality television programming for guests and residents of the Vail Valley. Deerfield Media has proven experience providing quality television to resort communities around the country,” said John Plack, spokesperson for Vail Resorts in Eagle County.
